Carrington is the Federation’s survey robot, like a flying saucer about a metre across.  Carringtons can see, hear, and talk – like a friendly butler.

Tloise and I saw Carringtons being made and repaired during our tour of the Zejets works.  See Report H.

As the final part of our training, we were dropped, in teams of two, about thirty-six kilometres from the Federation base on Dancer 88.  We had to find our way to it.  The walking wasn’t difficult, mainly over pale yellow sand, but we had to go round big rocks, and clumps of bushes with black leaves.  We sent a Carrington up ahead, to survey the ground, and send a picture to our wrist units.  He also told us the easiest route.  See Report 6.
